We Love Travel. Do You? Why Not Make a Living out of Doing What You Love?

We Love Travel. Do You? Why Not Make a Living out of Doing What You Love?

Islands, Thailand

As philosopher Confucius said, over 2,500 years ago, “Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life.” Wise words from a man who lived thousands of years before the Internet, mass communication and the tourism industry. A man who had no idea about the vast amount of choices that many people would have today when it came to their career, lifestyle and travel opportunities.

Today, the likes of Tim Ferris with his book ‘The Four Hour Work Week’ and a host of other Internet whizz-kids who call themselves ‘Digital Nomads’ have become famous for promoting the concept of pleasure over grind. Use your time doing what you love rather than toiling away in an office and spending just four or five weeks a year living the way you really want to.

As our friends over at We Love Travel tell us: ‘Stop Dreaming. Start Doing.’ But is it as easy as that? How do you fund your life of adventure?

We Love Travel have developed a unique concept, which brings together people with a passion for travel. They create and provide websites for these people allowing them to spread the word about a special place that they love, whilst giving them the opportunity to make a little (or a lot!) of money out of the website through affiliate marketing.

It works like this. Do you just love [ _______ ]? [Replace with your own personal paradise] Have eaten at every restaurant, drunk in every bar and danced in every nightclub? Do you know every adventure there is to do, even some hidden gems that only the locals know about? Then you could be the ideal person to promote the destination to fellow backpackers and tourists!

As you share blogs, reviews, events and insider tips – the more people that are interested in your destination and the more people you get visiting your website and booking hotels etc. – the more income you can potentially make to keep on living in the destination of your dreams!

You, or yourself and a group of friends, can buy one of the ‘We Love Travel’ websites for a one-off fee – and for this, the company will set up the website, give you full training on how to use the ‘Content Management System’ and three months support on how to drive traffic and make money from your site. After that, you have total control of your website and any affiliate sales you make (anything from hotels, to insurance, clothing and tours!) is 100% yours! Check out the destinations page now to find out what locations are still available to buy.

We Love Travel was founded three years ago by two English guys, Ryan and Jonathon with a huge passion for travel, in particular, South East Asia. The whole concept began with the very first website We Love Koh Lipe in 2009. Both Ryan and Jonathon had been living on the paradise island for a few years and were totally head over heels in love with the place. It seems that everybody at some point during their lives finds that one special place that is close to their heart.

Following the success of ‘We Love Koh Lipe’ they received requests from fellow travellers who wanted to replicate the website for their favourite destination and share their passion for the places they loved. Who could be better qualified to promote a destination than the destination’s biggest fan?

And that’s how We Love Travel was born; now covering 20 destinations online from Sydney to the Maldives! And that’s the beautiful thing about travel – each person falls in love with a different place. So, tell us – where in the world have you fallen in love with?

Good post! I read The 4-Hour Workweek almost seven years ago and I’ve been living that lifestyle ever since. I’m currently traveling through SE Asia now and blogging about it @ http://www.antonkraly.com. I did one month traveling all over Thailand, now I’m in Indonesia, and tomorrow I’m heading back to Thailand for another 3 months (I actually just picked up my tourist visa from the Thai Consulate in Bali)!

I make money via eCommerce while working only a few hours per day. If anyone is interested in what I do I have lots of free information on business blog at http://www.alksense.com and I have also have a paid drop ship/eCommerce membership site at http://www.fourhoursystem.com

Four years ago, during my first trip to Thailand I read the 4-hour Workweek on the plane ride over. Having just 3 short weeks vacation, I decided to make the most of it and signed up for virtually every tour possible, from Thai cooking classes, to James Bond Islands Tours, Jungle Bungy Jumping, and Discover Scuba Diving.

It was on the boat ride back from diving off of the Racha Yai islands that I decided to quit my job and move to Thailand. I went from beginner to getting paid as a divemaster within months, all while working on my blogs, websites and finally, writing the book, http://www.12weeksinThailand.com – The Good Life on the Cheap – The story of how to live, work online, and travel.

In my blog http://johnnyfd.blogspot.com/ – I explain exactly how I’ve been making money online while traveling around Thailand, Borneo, the Philippines, Bali and Laos. My advice to anyone wishing they could quit their job and make enough money to travel the world endlessly is to just do it! I’m literally in a coffee shop in Thailand right now while writing this and LOVING life.

    Warm Regards,

First it sounded quite interesting, but in the end, I’m not convinced. Are there numbers of how much income the websites are going to make? I checked a few of the ones they sold and regarding to Alexa, the traffic rank is not quite overwhelming. The pages are full of advertising, there is no personal touch. I would rather start my own blog, put my own ads up whatever and save the 100k Baht they ask for the websites…

Honestly, I wouldn’t pay whatever the asking price is that We Love Travel is asking for. You can make your own travel website for free and live the 4-hour Workweek. I’ve done it.
